Team Indiana Blue
Wins All Star
Championship in
Panama City
Jake Stambazze of Wildman
Named MVP
Panama City, Florida 10/30/2010
It was an all-Indiana finals in Panama City! Team Indiana Blue vs. Team Indiana Red, the blue team coached by Jimmy Thornton,
the red team by Dan Fields of Floors Unlimited. Team blue featured two Street Kids Softball players from the 2010 NSA season,
Joe Horvath and Brandon Dillon. Team red featured Chris Firebaugh. Two other SKS players were elected to the teams but could
not attend. TJ Jorgensen was elected as a coach of team blue and Danny Penale was elected as a player to team blue.
Team blue had a magical weekend, going unbeaten and in the end, defeated team red, 22-9. The closest game was the very first
one. Team blue was down against Team Florida when Travis Dale hit a walk off three run home run to beat Florida in the bottom
of the seventh. Every other game was no contest. The blue team batted .747 in Fridays three games and maybe even better on
Saturday.
Joe Horvath of SKS started out red hot, 14-for-16 going into the championship game. But after an 0-for-4 game, finished at an
even .700 (14-for-20). Jake Stambazze of Wildman had a great weekend and was named the tournament MVP.
"Jake was awesome this weekend, especially at third base," Horvath said after the tournament. "This team is unreal. Thats why they
call it an All Star team though. Top to bottom, we were red hot this weekend."
More information will be coming in and I will update it as I get it. Below are pictures of the tournament, featuring players from both
Indiana teams.
Great job to both Indiana teams to represent the state and prove that Indiana in fact has the best talent when it comes to NSA
softball!
