SKS Boost 2009 Lineup With Addition of
Veteran Kalei Enterline
South Bend, IN 11-8-08
The Street Kids/Suburban softball team made their first off
season move this weekend as they agreed to a deal with
infielder Kalei Enterline for the 2009 softball season.
"We are very excited to have Kalei join our team," said SKS
manager TJ Jorgensen. "Along with experience and overall
athletic ability, he brings versatility and hustle, some areas we
wanted to improve on next year. With his knowledge of the
game, as well as his contagious energy and enthusiasm, I think
this is a great start to putting together the right pieces for the
2009 season."
Enterline, who played the 2008 season with Cousins Roofing,
was just as excited to join the team that everyone talks about - on and off the field.
"I am really excited about the opportunity to play with such a class act team and organization," the
34-year-old veteran said on Friday. "I love what the SKS team does off the field and the way the
organization is run with the website, the stories and all. I'm looking forward to winning with this team in
2009."
Enterline, who chose Street Kids over a handful of teams including Thortons Softball/Circle City, has
played softball since 1995, when he joined Aqua Blast/Hooters. He also played with Bud Ice and
Swanton, with whom he won a Class C USSSA world championship with. He has been to several world
tournaments, won two state titles along with the USSSA world title, so he brings a lot of competitive
knowledge with him to the SKS team. In 2003, he took a break from competitive softball to pursue
another passion of his: golf. He finished third in the Indiana State Amateur event in 2004 and was two
shots away from qualifying for the 2006 US Open. He actually played his qualifier with PGA golfer
Stewart Cink. Cink shot a 68 and 72, while Enterline shot a 72 and 70 to miss the cut by just two strokes.
He still carries a .12 GHIN handicap.

"I love to golf but the only the game of softball can bring the
competitive fire in me that has burned since I can remember,"
Enterline continued. "I'm really looking forward to bringing that
same fire with me to this team and do my part to help bring a
national title to the Street Kids/Suburban organization."
Enterline is a proud father of two, Ben and Sarah, and also
enjoys bowling and cooking when away from the diamond.
Jorgensen has been working on putting together the right blend
of talent, athleticism and personality for the 2009 team. There
are still positions that need to be addressed and the plan is to
have the 2009 season in place by the first week in December.
Enterline will be at the 2008 Street Kids/Suburban awards banquet on Saturday to meet his new
teammates.
