Kalamazoo, MI-

The Street Kids/Easton/PAS
softball team struggled in their first
NSA NIT tournament of the 2008
season in Kalamazoo this past
weekend, winning two games and
losing two games. They were
eliminated by AMD/Dick's Bar
after blowing a 13-2 lead in the fifth
inning.

They lost the opener to Pro Glass, a
veteran team from the Detroit area,
and despite bouncing back to
defeat Extreme Softball and Dukes,
they showed that there
still needs to be work
put in to get this team
to the next level, as
they blew a 13-2 lead
against AMD, just to
lose in extra innings,
19-18.

"With all do respect to
AMD, I really didn't
think anyone actually
beat us today," said
Dan Garey, making
his second tournament
appearance after an
appendectomy in March.
"We just need to click a
little more. Playing in
leagues will help that."
Garey was stellar, going 14-for-17 from the plate. TJ Jorgensen also went 14-for-17, with two home runs
and a team high 13 rbi's. Lanny Fisher went 11-for-15 including two walks while Nick Bishop went
10-for-13. Jason Fowler added a 7-for-9 day as well.

Up next for the Kids (38-7 overall) will be their
league opener in South Bend, where they will take part in a
special event prior to the game with children from the Memorial Children's Hospital. The next tournament
for the Kids will be next week in Warsaw, where they will compete in the NSA state qualifier.
