Shane Varga made his return from the disabled list on Monday and
Carl Underwood and Hank Minix each hit three home runs to help
lead the Street Kids/Easton/PAS softball team to their 19th straight
league win after a sweep of Michiana Royals at Belleville.

Varga has missed several weeks after battling through many nagging
injuries and after going through therapy recently, felt good enough to
take the field - at least in league action.

"I'm not saying I'm ready to go play seven games in one day, but six
or seven at bats is a start," said the 2007 batting champion. "We'll see
how I feel tomorrow before we make any more decisions."

Carl Underwood's three home runs puts him one behind the team leader
- his son Jake. The elder Underwood now has 56 long balls this year.
Minix, the former team record holder, connected for three, giving him
28 so far this season. Joe Horvath, who set the single season record
last year with 85, hit his 52nd to keep pace with the Underwoods.

Street Kids - who are proudly sponsored in league by Zolman Tire -
were without three starters, including the teams leading home run and
rbi leader Jake Underwood, along with Jamie Everett and Tony
Hardiman. Even with the absence of those three, the Kids (81-15)
stepped up and helped lead SKS to a sweep of the Royals, who lead
the Gold division in the South Bend standings. They won the first game
16-4, highlighted by an eight run first inning, and then won the nightcap, 21-6.

Nick Bishop lead all hitters with seven hits, while TJ Jorgensen and Chris Firebaugh both added five each.

The Kids return to the field on Thursday with a double header against Zeibart at Rose Park beginning at
8pm.
Shane Varga had four extra base hits
Monday night in his return from the DL.
Underwood trails his son Jake in the big
home run race by only one after hitting
his 56th long ball on Monday.
