B3/SKS Finish 4th at ASA "C" State!
Kokomo, IN 7/31/10
The bid to win back to back state championships for some
of the B3 roster fell short this weekend as B3 finished 4th in
Kokomo in ASA C State.
B3 would have to go all weekend with 10 guys with some
of the guys having to miss ASA State with prior
commitments and last minute player cancellations. But they
won state the year before with 10 so let the tournament
begin.
Gm1- started about 6 hours late cause of a rain delay. B3
came out strong early, but then could only muster up 4 hits
in the last 4 innings and lost to Chumleys 14-23. Bobby
"Asian" Archambault led the team with 4-4 and 2 HR's.
Keith Welsh, and Brian Forray also added 3 hits a piece.
Gm2- now in the losers bracket and a long way to go, B3
would have to face Hoover Hearing on the same field they
played them on a few months back in Kokomo in NSA.
This was one of the most interesting games to watch of the
night, as it went back and forth many times and lasted what
seemed like 2 hours and past midnight. B3 ended up
winning 32-29. Rob Dillard and Mike Bailey both had 5
hits. Scott Goodwin and Brian Forray had 7 RBI's each.
Forray also had 2 HR's, and David Schoen hit for the cycle
and added 6 RBI's.
Gm3- early sunday morning which B3 always seems to
struggle with early morning games was against Dirty Birds.
Once again B3 came out real flat and played one of their
worst games, but were still able to somehow pull it out 9-7.
Asian once again who was having a excellent tournament at
the plate was 4-4 again with a HR and 4 RBI's. Dan
Mathews added 3 hits and 2 3b's. Brian Forray also had 3
hits.
Gm4- vs Voodoo went quick and B3 won in 5 inn 14-4.
Asian once again led the team and went 4-4 with 2 HR and

5 RBI's. Dan Mathews added 3 hits, and Brian Sampers was 3-3 as well.
Gm5- vs Acorn Ridge was much the same 5 innings and 14-4 win for B3. Asian Bobby was 4-4 again with a HR and 4 RBI. and was
working on a 12 consecutive hit streak. Keith Welsh , and Brian Sampers added 3 hits.
Gm6- was against former C State champ Budweiser. By this time B3 had just ran out of gas with the heat, and congrats to Budweiser they
beat B3 21-10. Asian had 3 more hits and David Schoen added 3 hits and 4 RBI.
B3 will play next weekend in Laporte in a Quad point qualifier and then NSA North State the following weekend.
