Street Kids Care Team Up
with Faith Mission for Turkey
Day Stampede!
Elkhart, IN 11/26/09
Over 600 runners took to the streets of Elkhart on a cold, rainy
Thanksgiving morning for a great cause.
The Faith Mission of Elkhart held their first annual Turkey Stampede to
raise money for the organization that assists with the homeless and others
going through times of poverty.
"Honestly, I was expecting about 200," said Faith Mission director Mike
Perez. "This was an amazing turnout, especially given the cold weather. I
want to thank Street Kids Softball for coming out and being in charge of
the runner traffic. Without the folks from Street Kids Care this could not
happened, and I mean that. Great job, guys."
About 13 people from the organization showed up to assist with runner
routes, directions and traffic.
This is the second time that Street Kids Care has worked with Faith
Mission, and it won't be the last.
Thank you to all of those who turned out at 7am to help with this
wonderful event. You showed that you put others first on this cold
holiday, and it is very appreciated.
