Street Kids Spend Time
With Boys and Girls Club
Players play games and hand out gifts on Saturday
South Bend, IN 12/20/08
With Mother Nature showing her powerful reign over the weather on
Saturday, members of the Street Kids/Suburban softball team spent
part of the day at the Boys and Girls Club in South Bend, looking to
put some smiles on the faces of some local children this holiday season.
Thanks to donations of some toys, the SKS team was able to make the
holiday a little brighter for over 30 kids as the team handed out the gifts
and spent close to two hours playing dodge ball, kick ball, whiffle ball
and basketball.
"Today was a chance for our team to come out here and spend some
time with these kids and maybe bring some excitement into their lives,"
said SKS director TJ Jorgensen. "I think the players had a lot of
fun, also!"
Approximately 16 members of the SK organization was on hand to
spend time with the kids and help hand out gifts. To get a better feel of what the day was like, see the video on this page along
with the photo's.
