Street Kids Care "Take Steps" for Crohn's and
Colitis in Mishawaka!

Mishawaka, IN 5/2/09
Today, members of Street Kids Care "Took Steps"
for Crohn’s and Colitis. They joined with 100 other
community members to fight these digestive diseases
that affect over 1.4 million Americans.
Though the air was breezy, the sun was shining bright
at Central Park in Mishawaka. The team walked the
2 mile course, and even jogged some of it to keep it
exciting. They enjoyed hot dogs and cookies as well at the site. One of the SK Care members even donated her
time to volunteer for the walk put on by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America. Street Kids Care raised
over $200 in honor of Courtney Jorgensen of SK Care, who has suffered from Crohn’s Disease for over 12 years.
One in every 200 people suffer daily with digestive diseases. For those who live with these chronic disease, life is
a roller coaster of active and remitting disease. However, the opportunity to make life more manageable for
patients who live day to day with intense pain, the threat of long term hospital stays and multiple surgeries, has
never been greater.
Donations will continue to be accepted below. We also
invite you to attend “Take Lanes” a bowling fund raiser
put on by Street Kids Care to raise additional funds for
the cause. Please join us Sunday, May 3rd from 7-9 pm
at Chippewa Bowl in South Bend. For a donation of
$5 per person (and $3 shoe rental), but you must
register by emailing or calling TJ Jorgensen by Sunday
afternoon.
Thank you for taking time to consider making a
difference and look forward to seeing those that
signed up at Chippewa Bowl on Sunday!
