Fisher Leads Several Players in
2nd Tourney Win in Jackson
Jackson, MI-

Lanny Fisher, the reigning 2007 Most Valuable Player, reached
base 18 out of 23 times - including hitting two big home runs - as
he helped lead the Street Kids/Easton/PAS softball team to their
second straight tournament win of the season this past weekend
at the Jackson Dome.

Carl Underwood, who was hampered by a foot injury he suffered
in the Corvilla Snowball tournament in January, showed no signs
of any pain, at least not at the plate, as he reached base 17 out of
22 times. He also connected for a home run. Joe Horvath reached
base 17 times and hit a team high four home runs, while Jake
Underwood hit three home runs and reached base 16 times. Nick
Bishop, last seasons Michigan State Championship MVP, hit two
grand slam home runs and reached base 13 out of 18 times.

The Dome can be tricky when it comes to statistics. Some players hit fly balls that hit the ceiling but dropped
untouched for a hit, where outside they would be routine outs, and some players like Jamie Everett, just had
all kinds of bad luck.

"Jamie hates the dome," joked Chris Firebaugh, who only had two at bats in the tournament before suffering
an injury to his side, which sidelined him for the rest of the tournament. "He probably had 17 or 18 hits if we
were outside."

SKS went a perfect 7-0 in the tournament, improving their overall record in 2008 to14-0 with two
tournament wins. They will next travel to Cincinnati, Ohio on March 14th for the annual WSL Bash for
Cash. At that point, all individual stats count and the season is officially underway.
