The Street Kids Football team started the third and final session at SoccerZone the way the ended the
second session... with another win.
SK's defeated ImportEx Warriors 28-14 on Sunday, giving them their ninth straight win overall, including a
perfect 8-0 in session two, and increased their overall record to 11-5 (following a 2-5 first session record).
And they did it with only six players in uniform.
"Tonights win was special, because there were no rests," head coach Joe Richard said. "I really appreciate
the respectful move the coach of ImportEx did by only playing six guys on the field also (as opposed to the
normal seven allowed on the field)."
This game was played very well, and only a few big plays made the difference. Andrew Carrico had to step
in at quarterback with Colin out of action. Actually, there were a lot of players out of position with only six
players in uniform. Defense was played very well by both teams also.
"Everyone did a great job being shorthanded," Richard added. "Greg Richard played exceptional defense
tonight, all over the field making tackles for us. He saved two breakaway runs that would have been
touchdowns and who knows how the game might have went."
Sundays game was a true character check for the SK players and the coaching staff could not be more proud
of the way they handled themselves against a good team.
