Mishawaka –
Street
Kids Organization Director TJ Jorgensen announced today that the College
Football Hall of Fame will host the teams annual awards banquet, which is slated
for November 25th at 4pm.
The event will be held inside the Press Box, which is the HOF’s banquet
hall. Street Kids marketing coordinator Alan Nutting met with a representative
of the HOF on Tuesday and starting the ball rolling.
The elegant Press Box sits above the lobby of the HOF, with stunning, floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the inspiring three-story "Pursuit of a Dream" sculpture and outside to the Gridiron Plaza beyond. Located in the center of downtown South Bend, the Hall of Fame – built in 1995 – encompasses much more than college football. From intimate gatherings of 10 to lavish events serving up to 400 guests, the Hall of Fame provides the perfect atmosphere for the awards banquet.
“I
am very excited for our team to be involved with the Hall of Fame,” said
Jorgensen on Tuesday. “To me, the HOF represents sports in its purity and we
are honored and very excited to be having the banquet at such an amazing
venue.”
Jorgensen
also announced that a special guest speaker is planning to attend the event,
but would not release the name at this time.
Clark
Foods will be supplying the dinner, thanks to Justin Sears, a long time member
of the Street Kids team. There will be alcoholic beverages as well as pop/juice
to drink. The team will be in need of volunteers to help with food preparation
as well as set up and take down. Please contact TJ Jorgensen to find out how
you can help.
The
event will begin at 4pm and go until approximately 7pm. The reason for the early start is because of
the Notre Dame/USC football game which begins at 8pm.
The
awards banquet is open to all players and their families, as well as all
friends, fans, readers of the web site and sponsors, along with their
families. In order to attend, you
must RSVP to TJ Jorgensen either by phone or by email. There is no cost for the event.
The
team is strongly encouraging this years sponsors to attend this event so that we
may show our gratitude properly and accordingly.
This
is a casual affair, but the team is asking that people please dress appropriate
for the event. No hats or shorts,
please.
