Portage, MI-

In a close knit game on Thursday, the Kalamazoo Street Kids
team lost their Portage City League season opener 10-9 to
Superbad. Even though the team lost, there were a few bright
spots in the game.

With four players combing for a 13-for-14 outing, it shows
promise for this young team. With Chad Arnold out with a
injured knee and Jeff Arnold away on a work related outing,
the team was left missing two of it’s starters. Terry Patesel,
a long time veteran from the South Bend Street Kids team,
showed up to help out and had a stellar 4-for-4 night. Also
adding to the offensive effort were Rob Comstock, Todd
Arnold and Mike Martin, all collecting three hits in the game.

The next game will be next Thursday at 6:15 pm on Ramona
Field #1 in Portage MI.
