Portage, MI-
The Cruisers Pub/Street Kids Softball team fell just short Thursday night, dropping one to Dream
Limousine, 14-13. With the score seesawing back and forth for most of the game, the Street Kids
went into the top of the seventh trailing by two. Unfortunately the bats just were not there, only
producing one run in the final three innings.
“We basically had five players carry the entire team tonight and you can’t win games like that,”
stated team manager Jeff Arnold.
Kevin George and Eric Izerbard both had a perfect night, going 4-for-4 and 2-for-2, respectively,
while Terry Patesel, Jim Price and Todd Arnold added to the totals with three hits each. Jim Price
continued his assault on the Kalamazoo Street Kids RBI record (26), set last year by Jeff Arnold.
Jim has already matched last years total with 8 games still left to play.
Up next for the Kzoo Kids, Moe’s Tavern on Westnedge Field #3 at 6:15 p.m.
“I’d also like to add a thank you to the friends and family of the Kalamazoo Street Kids team for
their great support every game,” Arnold added. “It’s nice to see all those faces at the games every
week!”
