Buchanan, MI-
This years Al Fisher Memorial tournament would be a first for the Kalamazoo Street Kids team. It was the first time
that the majority of our league team played a tournament together. The team was missing outfielder Kevin George,
still recovering from a back injury, and new team catcher Pat Coleman, whom had a family function to attend.
Luckily, Randy Krill and Danny Fleming, from the South Bend Coed squad, came to our aid and filled in.
This was definitely a learning experience for our young guys. Our Kalamazoo team will look to enter another
tournament or two this year, in an effort to continue to learn and grow as a team. “I think the Al Fisher Memorial was
a great place to start for our team!” stated Kalamazoo manager Jeff Arnold. “ It gave the new guys a taste of
tournament play, and I think they liked it! We look forward to coming back again next year and seeing where we
measure up once again.”
