Midland, MI-
It started as a charity
event and turned deadly after a line drive strikes the pitcher killing him. It
happened at the St. Charles baseball field in Midland.
It was on a softball
field like many you have seen before. A game on a quiet Saturday afternoon
quickly turned tragic.
The 31-year-old Stevie
Coon of Midland was pitching for a friend during a softball game when the line
drive struck him in the chest. Coon threw the player out and took a few steps
towards the pitcher's mound and collapsed.
There were fans in the
stands who were trained in CPR and attended to Coon until emergency personnel
arrived at the scene. He was taken to MidMichigan Medical Center.
