Street Kids Softball Help Raise $38,000
for American Cancer Society
South Bend, IN-

The Street Kids Softball team took part in
the annual Relay For Life walk this weekend,
the signature event held by the American
Cancer Society to help raise money for
cancer research. Several members of the
SKS team turned out at Jackson Middle
School on Saturday and did their part by
walking for several hours.

"I was very happy to see the guys come out
and show their support," said Courtney
Jorgensen, Relay Committee member, and
captain of the SKS relay team. "It goes far to show how much our organization is involved with cancer
awareness and what we can do to help."

Jorgensen stated that the event helped them reach their goal, raising over $38,000 for cancer research.
Hundreds of people turned out for the event at Jackson Middle School in South Bend, where participants
spent 15 hours walking around a football field to help raise money for the American Cancer Society. SKS
director TJ Jorgensen was pleased with the team turnout.

"I know some guys were out of town but I was excited to see all of those who showed up," Jorgensen said.
"Tony Hardiman and JR Shapiro must have put in 10 miles each, as they were just cruising along, and even in
the late hours after midnight, they were still motivating people to walk. It was great."

Even though the event is over, you can still donate to Relay For Life until August by visiting the Street Kids
