South Team Struggles in '09 Debut
Indianapolis, IN  4-4-09

The Street Kids South team was once again without several starters
as they took to the field in Indianapolis at the NSA McCracken,
and the results showed.

The South team struggled in their only two games, losing the first
game to NMK 19-18. The toughest part of this game was the fact
that South was up 18-8 in the fifth inning but could not stop the
NMK offensive comeback. Pitcher Mikey Neal had to be removed
after some tough shots up the middle caused him to fall awkwardly,
twisting his ankle.

South lost to Rabid Bats in the next game, 16-0, eliminating them
from the tournament.

"After that first loss, I think we just lost our motivation," said Derek
Stephen. "We just need our whole team in place together and after
we get that first win, we will start rolling."

Up next for the South team is the NSA Hooters event, which the SKS team is also going to.
