Patesel Rejoins SKS for 2009
NSA Post Season
Three-time world champion outfielder brings leadership, respect
South Bend, IN  8/5/09

Veteran outfielder Terry Patesel of Portage, Michigan - fresh off his
2009 ASA state championship win - has agreed to join the Street
Kids/Suburban South/PAS softball team for the remainder of the
2009 NSA season.

"Its not very often you can add someone of Terry's resume and skill,"
said SKS manager TJ Jorgensen. "He joins a team full of people that
respect him probably more than any other player we have played
with and its well deserved. Terry has the ability to not only provide
veteran leadership, but the rare ability to bring out the best in his
teammates. This is a good pickup for us, even if its just for NSA."

Patesel will not be available for next week's NSA Class B Indiana State championship because he played in
the Michigan Class B state championship last week with Monhollon Softball, who also won the 41st annual
Kiracofe tournament in Kalamazoo. SKS finished fifth in the Kiracofe.

"I am very excited to once again be part of the biggest name in the sport in Street Kids Softball," said the
43-year-old ageless wonder. "I have watched this organization blossom from the ground up and been a
support beam for many things behind the scene and I am looking forward to helping SKS in 2009."

With injuries to Joe Horvath (ribs, back) and the uncertainty that he will regain his full strength to play
outfield in 2009, Jorgensen knew he needed to provide another glove to compliment rookie Scott Martin,
who has played all three outfield spots this year.

"We've asked a lot of the kid," Jorgensen added, referring to Martin. "He's done a great job, but running
outfield for 150-170 games a year, especially at the B level can be tiresome on anyone, and the last thing I
want is for him to get worn out or hurt his arm any further."

The team also has Zach Yeaney, who is arguably their best outfielder, and they have used infielders Jay
Jeffery, Nick Bishop and Chris Firebaugh to help shoulder the load of the injuries and players missing action.
Newly acquired outfielder Mike Malesko played a fantastic right field during the Kids ASA state
tournament, and he will be right back there again for several of the remaining tourney's, but adding Patesel
will be a key move. And its something that other players are excited about, too.

"Terry is one of the best teammates you could ever have," said infielder Dan Garey, who was a teammate of
Patesel's when the SKS team won the 2007 state championship. "He is the definition of a veteran winner.
Not only can he play his ass off but he tries to give advice to anyone, picks you up after a mistake and just
flat out knows how to win. Great pickup for our team."

"I am excited that Terry is playing with us," said infielder Nick Bishop, also a teammate of Patesel's during
the state title run. "On the field, I have learned more from him in the few tournaments I have played with him
than most of the players I have played with in five years."

"This is huge for this team," said often-injured outfielder Joe Horvath. "I just hope I can be out there with him
and do my part to help this team win. I've felt pretty bad about the time I've missed this year, and with the
new pickups over the past few weeks, its made me miss it even more. Having Terry out there will give the
outfielders so much more experience. And I think its great to have more than three outfielders, especially
deep in the post season."

Patesel will be in his new SK uniform, pending roster approvals, for the NSA Class B Zone Championship
on August 28-30 in Muncie, Indiana. He will also be present for the NSA World Series in Indianapolis as
well as the NSA Super World Series in Nashville. He will not be on the ASA roster, as he will be playing
with Monhollon Softball at ASA Nationals.
