Indiana ASA Commissioner
Battling Cancer
Wayne Myers, 84, has been the State Commissioner of ASA since
1976. His wife, Phyllis, is at his side.

I feel it my duty to inform you of the condition of our beloved friend and State
Commissioner Mr. Wayne L. Myers.  Wayne has been receiving weekly
chemotherapy to combat liver cancer.  Chemotherapy is hard on young men.
Wayne turned eighty-four (84) on August 10, 2009.  Wayne is a fighter, and
he continues to fight 150%.  One must wonder how much more fight Wayne
has left.

Wife, Phyllis has constantly been at Wayne’s side.  Phyllis is exhausted from
caring for herself, Wayne, and the house.  The Indiana ASA phone rings constantly.  Faxes come in day and night.  The over-sized mail
box is always full of incoming mail.  Email comes 24/7/365.  It can be quite overwhelming.  Phyllis has shut the phone off for the
weekend, in hopes of getting some rest.

As you know Wayne has served as Indiana ASA State Commissioner since December 6, 1976.  Wayne has nothing but the greatest
regard for Indiana ASA.  It appears that Wayne’s days as Indiana ASA Commissioner are nearly complete.  You see it seems that God
has another assignment for Wayne.  We don’t know exactly what that assignment will entail, but it should be considered a promotion.

I am asking that each of you pray for Wayne and Phyllis Myers.  Pray that God’s will be done in their lives.  Pray that Wayne receives
God’s healing touch.  Pray that Phyllis gets some rest.  Put these issues directly in God’s hands.

Then do your part for Indiana ASA.  Work through the chain-of-command to solve problems and answer questions.  Be a problem
solver, not a problem maker.

May God bless Wayne and Phyllis Myers.  May God’s will be done.  May God bless each and everyone who helps during this time of
need.  May God bless you!

"On behalf of the Street Kids Softball organization, I ask everyone in the sport to take a moment and pray for Mr. Myers and his family.
For over 30 years, Mr. Myers has guided the Indiana ASA program and has been there for thousands of people over those years. Its
now time for us to be there for him. Please keep Mr. and Mrs. Myers in your prayers."   -
